Karlovy Vary owes its fame to the hot curative springs in the meadows by the River Teplá. The largest of the springs - Vřídlo - gushes up from a depth of 2,000 to 3,000 meters to a height of up to 12 meters and the water has a temperature of approximately 73°C.
